CAPAS, TARLAC — The third race of the Pho3nix Kids Philippines (PKP) series, the highly anticipated advanced duathlon championships, took place at New Clark City here on May 20.
Organized by GoClark Sports & Events in partnership with Pho3nix Foundation, this platform has successfully nurtured young talent in endurance sports since its inaugural race on March 18, 2023.
Building on the momentum from the second race on April 15, the young duathletes of the PKP series showcased their skills once again. Akyzxa Izakiela Tangalin emerged victorious in the 16-17 years old division, crossing the finish line with an impressive time of 0:31:21. Meanwhile, Connor Hodges claimed the title of male champion, completing the course in a remarkable time of 0:26:12.
The 14-15 years old category witnessed Maria Celinda Raagas seizing the top spot, completing the duathlon in a remarkable time of 0:31:27. Darell Johnson Bada showcased his dominance in the male category, crossing the finish line in an impressive time of 0:26:23.
Dominique Aragones demonstrated her talent and determination in the 12-13 years old category, finishing the race in a commendable time of 0:20:25. Among the male participants, Johan Joey Marcelo showcased his prowess, setting a blistering pace and completing the course in an impressive time of 0:16:39.
In the 10-11 years old category, Alaina Bouffat emerged as the leading female duathlete, displaying exceptional skill and clocking in at 0:19:39. Jes Zyler Franz Nicanor impressed with his performance, registering a time of 0:21:06 in the male category.
The 8-9 years old category witnessed extraordinary performances, with Pia Gienne Meiko Gito setting a blazing pace among the female participants, finishing the race in an impressive time of 0:13:24. Among the male competitors, Chris Donovan Lacuna displayed exceptional speed, completing the duathlon in a remarkable time of 0:12:43.
