CLARK FREEPORT — A contractual worker at the Yokohama Tire Philippines Inc. here tested positive of the coronavirus disease last July 4.
In a memorandum on Monday, YTPI disclosed that a janitor, although infected, is asymptomatic and has been confined to a government isolation facility.
In coordination with the Clark Development Corp.’s health and sanitation division, YTPI’s own medical team had initiated contact tracing “with mandatory self-quarantine to be observed.” Eight close contacts of the janitor have also been identified, YTPI reported.
Disinfection and misting of the entire employees’ facilities have also been undertaken, along with a joint re-assessment of YTPI facilities with the CDC for the employees’ workplace safety.
Protocols are also in place such as physical distancing, frequent hand washing/ sanitizing, and intensified disinfecting activities, YTPI said.

We’d like to assure everyone, that with the assistance of the government authorities involved, we commit to stay on top of the situation and provide best efforts to keep everyone’s safety,” assured YTPI in the memo.
