CLARK FREEPORT – In line with the company’s environmental advocacy, Yokohama Tire Phil. Inc. (YTPI) recently introduced the “green curtain” concept and donated color-coded trash bins to the Siñura Elementary School (SES) in Porac, Pampanga.

YTPI environmental management section supervisors Shaira Sta. Catalina and Erick Payawal engaged the students and teachers in lecture-discussions on waste management and the importance of tree planting.
YTPI introduced the concept of green curtain or living curtain as sustainable solution to provide shade and reduce indoor temperatures. By using climbing plants trained to grow vertically over a trellis made from reusable materials, green curtains create a natural barrier that blocks sunlight and lowers heat absorption in the buildings, lowering the need for artificial cooling systems such as air conditioning.
YTPI executives Eden Mago, public relations and general services section manager, and Reynante Legion, EMS section manager, led the turnover of the donations to SES principal Lyn Deang and other school officials. Punto News Team/PR
