TARLAC CITY – Gov. Susan Yap allayed fears of Tarlaqueño healthcare workers on the Covid-19 vaccines.
“Advancement of Chinese medicine is at par with the rest of the world,” she noted in her message at Tuesday’s symbolic vaccination at the Tarlac Provincial Hospital, addressing hesitations over Covid-19 vaccines, specifically Sinovac.
Sharing her own experiences in the advancements of Chinese medicines, Yap said: “It’s not all about those branding, but in terms of efficacy in protecting our people, I think what has been brought to us last Saturday will protect our healthcare workers.“
With this, Yap assured that Tarlac is ready to roll out and is one with the Department of Health in the campaign for the Covid-19 vaccination program.
“They have always been supportive to us like a big brother who helps us and tells us what we must do,” she said.
The governor advised everyone to be responsible in consuming information posted on social media.
“There are many doubts regarding the vaccines that’s why I have been telling everyone since the beginning not to rely mostly on social media because not all of it is true,” Yap said.
“Listen to the experts and when you hear unpleasant words regarding it, look at the clinical studies, they have been there already,” she added.
Yap also thanked the medical frontliners for being tough in the continuous fight against Covid-19.
This, as she reminded everyone to strictly follow health protocols especially now that the positive cases in the province are increasing.
“Please continue to wear your face masks and face shields, regularly wash your hands and observe physical distancing until we’re fully vaccinated,” Yap said. — Gabriela Liana Barela/PIA–3
