World’s biggest floating book fair to dock at Subic

    CLARK FREEPORT – The ship MV Logos Hope, the world’s largest floating book fair will have its second visit to Subic Bay Freeport from November 20 to December 2.

    “The purpose of the visit is to bring knowledge, help and hope for visiting children, adults and professionals.

    Books will be made available at nominal cost,” said Department of Tourism (DOT) Central Luzon director Ronnie Tiotuico.

    He said the fair will also feature cultural programs to participated in by its volunteering crew members from various countries.”

    The MV Logos Hope is operated by German Christian charitable organizations under their project “Good books for all.”

    Tiotuico said the book fair will be open to the public from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday to Sunday. Entrance fee is P10 for both adult and children.

    “As part of a non-profit educational charity, Logos Hope carries the world largest floating book fair – over 5,000 titles of literature are available for visitors,” he noted.

    The ship has a publicly accessible deck where visitors are introduced to the vessel and the German organization. The crew also would present a visual presentation called the Journey of Life based on the story of the Prodigal Son.

    The ship’s crew of about 400 people come from various countries who live on the vessel on voluntary basis for two years.
