The Entrepreneurship (ETE) program launch in Manila led by World Vision representatives and Wells Fargo executives together with program beneficiaries.

For the second consecutive year, World Vision and multinational services firm Wells Fargo are collaborating on a project that will empower communities with training on entrepreneurship and savings management.

The Empowerment through Entrepreneurship (ETE) program was recently launched in Manila. Representatives from World Vision, led by Resource Development Director Jun Godornes and Operations Manager for Luzon Roberto Dazo, joined leaders from Wells Fargo, headed by Uday Odedra, Head of India and the Philippines region and Mike Whyte, Country Head – Philippines to participate in the event.

More than 400 individuals from Manila and Malabon, who are part of small enterprise groups from World Vision’s Community Management Savings and Credit Association (CoMSCA), were initially tapped to be part of the project.

The beneficiaries will undergo advanced entrepreneurial training designed to improve their overall business operations. They will establish their businesses by securing the required business registrations and permits from regulatory authorities. Further, the program will provide the beneficiaries with leadership development as well as coaching and mentoring sessions to ensure their sustained growth and success.

“This partnership is a testament to the power of collaboration and pursuing meaningful change,” Godornes said during the World Vision and Wells Fargo partnership event. He added, “This project is not just alleviating poverty but also fostering resilience and self-reliance.”

Likewise, Whyte emphasized, “At Wells Fargo, we believe in sponsoring communities where we live and work. We also get involved in community activities. We want to be part of the solution.”

In 2023, Wells Fargo Philippines and World Vision partnered to help upskill a total of 247 youth in Baseco Manila providing pathways to employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. Beneficiaries of this project received training support, enabling them to obtain industry certifications, secure rewarding jobs, or start their own businesses.
