IBA, Zambales – A high value drug suspect yielded a gun, ammos, and two sachet of shabu during the serving of a search warrant by police here early Friday morning.

Report reaching the office of Zambales police director Col. Romano Velayo Cardiño said that at around 1:15 a.m., joint elements of the Iba police, 305th Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3, and provincial police  investigation unit served a search warrant issued by Judge Mari P. Chua of RTC Brach 70, Iba, Zambales with SW No. RTC-43-2021-I against suspect Maria Theresa Calimlim y Asuncion, 38, of Purok 2, Sitio Takipan, Barangay Palanginan, Iba.

Confiscated from the suspect were a .38 Smith and Wesson revolver, four pieces of live ammunition for .38, two heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, and assorted drug paraphernalia.

The suspect is now detained at Iba MPS facing charges for violation violations of R.A. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Law) and RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Cardiño warned the public that: “When a person has unlicensed firearms or with expired license, it is already considered as loose firearms. Anyone who has either expired license or unlicensed firearms can coordinate with the nearest police station. Zambales PNP is more than willing to assist you with this matter. Otherwise, the PNP will be forced to apply for a search warrant and confiscate the firearms with corresponding charges against the violator.”
