CABANATUAN CITY – A 54-year-old woman died of multiple injuries after she
accidentally fell on the pavement of a bridge and run over by a motorcycle along
Maharlika Road in Barangay Valdefuente here at about 2:40 a.m., July 21.
Imvestigators identified the victim as Yolanda Agpalo, widow, resident of
Barangay Narvacan 2, Guimba, Nueva Ecija.
Investigation showed the victim was riding pillion on a tricycle driven by a certain
Juanito Esteban, a 68-year-old warehouseman, also from Narvacan 2, Guimba,
heading south when she “suddenly fell and crashed on the pavement.”
She was “accidentally run over” by a motorcycle driven by 30-year-old Alvin
Austria of Barangay Caalibangbangan this city which was running towards the
same direction, investigation report showed.
Austria, upon hitting the woman, lost control and crashed on the bridge railings.
Both persons were rushed to hospital for treatment but the woman, whose body
bore marks of the bike’s wheels, was declared dead upon arrival, police added.
Charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide was being readied against
Austria.
