With Padre Pio, Mother Teresa of Culcutta, and the late Pope Paul VI virtually confirming the supernatural authenticity of the Garabandal, Spain apparitions in the early 1960’s, our focus now is when the prophecies there would occur.
The prophecies include the Warning, the Miracle and, conditionally, the Chastisement. The Miracle will happen within a year after the Warning, the Blessed Mother revealed to the Garabandal visionaries.
One of the four seers, Conchita Gonzalez gave us very specific hints as to when the Miracle will happen:
• on a Thursday at 8:30 p.m. (probably Garabandal time);
• on a feast day of a martyr of the Blessed Sacrament;
• on a feast of great ecclesiastical importance;
• in March, April or May.
The Blessed Mother told Conchita the exact date but was allowed to reveal this to the world only eight days in advance through a priest of her choice.
One follower of Garabandal has noted that the date of the Miracle seemed decipherable, “particularly if one accepts that it must occur within the lifetime of the still living Joey Lomangino, now in his 80s, and Conchita now in her 60s.” (This column recently tackled Joey Lomangino.)
The end of the world, which “only the Father knows” is not being tackled here, so let’s keep that issue out. It is very possible that the Blessed Mother, while prohibiting Conchita to reveal the exact date of the Miracle until eight days before it occurs, is allowing us good sense for calculating when the Miracle will happen.
At least two avid Garabandal followers came out with the same date: Maundy Thursday, April 13, 2017. One interesting implication, of course, is that the Warning will happen within a year before this date.
Notes one follower: “That date is the Feast of Spanish martyr for the Eucharist, Prince St Hermenegild, whose own father, the King of Visigothic Spain, ordered his execution because he would not take communion from an Arian heretical priest. Prince Hermenegild was imprisoned in Tarragona or Toledo by his father, King Leovigild.
During his captivity in the tower of Seville, an Arian bishop was sent to St. Hermenegild during the Easter Season, but he would not accept Holy Communion from the hands of that heretical prelate. King Leovigild ordered him beheaded and he was martyred on 13 April 586.”
Another Garabandal follower came out with the same date, April 13, 2017, noting that the year would be 100 years since the sun danced in the Blessed Mother’s apparitions in Fatima, Portugal also on the 13th but in October, 1917.
“Also Joey Lomangino (the blind messenger of Garabandal) will be already 87 years old in 2017 and he is to receive his eyesight at that time,” he also noted. Let us review the Warning to occur before the Miracle, according to Conchita herself:
“The Warning is a thing that comes directly from God and will be visible throughout the entire world, in whatever place anyone might be…. will be like a revelation of our sins as como si revelase nuestros pecados, and it will be seen and experienced by believers and non-believers and people of any religion whatsoever…. is like a purification for the Miracle.
And it is a sort of a catastrophe. It will make us think of the dead, that is, we would prefer to be dead than to experience the Warning.” And here’s Conchita again on the Miracle: “I will tell you all that I can just as the Virgin told it to me.
She told me that God was going to perform a great Miracle and that there would be no doubt about the fact that it was a miracle. It will come directly from God with no human intervention. A day will come — and she told me the day, the month and the year so I know the exact date.”
