CLARK FREEPORT – The incoming president and chief executive officer of the state-owned Clark Development Corp. (CDC) which runs this freeport said yesterday his wife, an executive of the Philippine Deposit and Insurance Corp. (PDIC) is resigning as a matter of “delicadeza” when he assumed his post here by next month.
In an interview with Punto, former Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, who was named a week ago by Pres. Aquino to the top CDC post, said his wife, Cristina Cusia- Remollo, would be resigning as PDIC vice president for legal affairs. The PDIC is also a government entity.
“She is giving way to my taking over the CDC post,” said Remollo whose appointment is expected to be confirmed by board members of the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) by the end of this month. Earlier PDIC president Jose Nograles also resigned as PDIC president, but this was because of policy differences with Finance Sec. Cesar Purisima.
The President had also named Ateneo law dean Cesar Villanueva, among with retired Commission on Elections chairman Jose Melo as CDC board member.
