BALANGA CITY — The police provincial office here announced Thursday that joint police units have arrested a 51-year-old man accused of rape and listed as the No. 3 most wanted person at the provincial level.
Col. Palmer Tria, acting Bataan police director, identified the suspect as Jay Miguel of Barangay Talimundoc in Orani, Bataan who was nabbed by virtue of a warrant of arrest for two counts of statutory rape and sexual assault.
Joint elements led by the Morong MPS and composed of personnel of the Orani MPS, Bataan police intelligence unit, 1st and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, Bataan Highway Patrol Group and Morong Maritime Police Precinct conducted the manhunt operation in Talimundoc.
The suspect was placed under the custody of the Morong MPS for proper documentation.
Tria lauded the Morong MPS under chief of police Cap. Ernesto Clemente for the achievement with the collaborative efforts of other units.
Tria also congratulated the Morong MPS for being Top 13 out of 116 municipal police stations in Region 3 in Unit Performance Evaluation Rating (UPER) and Top 3 in the provincial level in Bataan for the months of March and April.
UPER is a monthly standardized assessment device that evaluates the performance of different offices of the Philippine National Police nationwide.
