Wage boards to workers: Be more productive amid pandemic

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA During the launching of the 2021 Regional Productivity Olympics, the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) Central Luzon encourages jobseekers, workersand employers to be more productive amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The said launching of the 2021 Regional Productivity Olympics was held simultaneous to a virtual webinar on work ethics and productivity on April 30, 2021.  

DOLE Regional Director Geraldine M. Panlilio, Chairperson of RTWPB Central Luzon, was the keynote speaker during the webinar. She highlighted the importance of possessing work ethics for the attainment of organizational targets and urged jobseekers as well as employees to be more proactive and maintain a positive attitude and good work ethics at work.

Good work ethics is very important for the company to achieve the level of productivity it needs to be successful,” RD Panlilio explained, emphasizing the value of a productive workforce as one of the leading factors towards success. “If we improve and develop ourselves, there is no reason for us not to bounce back better for a better Philippines,” she said.

RD Panlilio also pushed employers to develop a corporate culture that embraces good work ethics and fosters productivity to be an avenue of growth and development for their employees.

Meanwhile, the 2021 Productivity Olympics, a competition showcasing the best productivity programs and practices of MSMEs, was also launched during the virtual activity. Jerome Yanson, head of RTWPB Central Luzon secretariat, encouraged all MSMEs that showed resiliency and implemented best employee engagement and job preservation programs to join the competition. Regional winners will be endorsed to compete in the national competition to win more prizes.
