CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin, on Saturday, inspected the waterways and creeks in this city together with the city environment and natural resources office (CENRO) as part of its river desilting program.

According to Lazatin, to prevent flooding in various barangays and subdivisions in this city, creeks, rivers, and waterways must also be cleared of garbage and other waste materials.

Saddened to find out about the garbage situation at a creek in one of the private subdivisions here, Lazatin asks the residents to maintain cleanliness and dispose of garbage properly as it has been one of the main causes of flooding in the area and its nearby barangays.

Lazatin also thanked the local government employees in ensuring the removal of the garbage and waste disposal in the area to ensure the flow of the water in order to prevent flooding.
