CABANATUAN CITY – A village councilor was killed by still unidentified suspects inside his junkshop in Barangay Gen. Ricarte, Llanera, Nueva Ecija at about 5:50 a.m Sunday.
Nick Apan, 42, resident of the same place, was inside his premises when three suspects on board separate motorcycles parked in front of his junkshop.
“Accordingly, one of the suspects entered the victim’s junkshop and pretended as a customer while the two other suspects were left behind, on their vehicle,” said PO3 Silvester Colanza, investigator.
Without provocation, police said, the man shot the victim once using a cal. 45 pistol and fled with his two companions.
Apan was rushed to Premiere General Hospital here but was declared dead on arrival. He sustained a lone gunshot wound in the lower portion of his head, Colanza said.
Investigators recovered from the crime scene a fired cartridge and bullet from cal. 45.
