CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – To inform the youth regarding their roles, duties and responsibilities in disaster management, the Provincial Government of Pampanga, through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) conducted a Briefing on Youth Involvement in Disaster Risk Management for Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials.
This was recently held at Lubao town and Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center (BZGCC), attended by 3,600 elected SK officials in the province.
Vice Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda motivated the youth to actively participate in management- related activities, as well as in maintaining the peace and order situation in their respective barangays. For Pineda, this is a responsibility to be taken seriously.
It is not easy, according to him, but when there is cooperation, initiative, self-involvement and faith in God as core foundations, all will be well.
Moreover, Governor Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda also said to the youth that the Capitol is always open to help them.
This was also assured by Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Chief Angie Blanco.
Gabriel Moshe Lacson, SK Federation President – Pampanga Chapter thanked PDRRMC headed by Governor Lilia ‘Nanay Pineda and Vice Governor Pineda in recognizing the youth’s capabilities in contributing for the betterment of the province.
Attending this summit were 3rd District Congressman Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales, Provincial Board Members Cherry Manalo and Benjamin Jocson (1st District); Anthony Joseph Torres (2nd District); Rosve Henson (3rd District) ; Nelson Calara (4th District); Liga ng mga Barangay President Renato ‘Gabby’ Mutuc, City/Municipal Mayors of Pampanga, Dir. Gil T. Pabilona of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 3, Police Chief Inspector Julius Javier and Police Chief Inspector Efren David Jr. and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) Head Elizabeth Baybayan.
It can be recalled that last December 4, 2018, Pampanga was hailed to have the Best Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in the 20th Gawad Kalasag National level.
