GAPAN CITY – A 33-year-old elementary undergraduate vendor yielded 25 sachets of suspected shabu and a handgun in an anti-drug sting by city police operatives in Barangay San Roque here at about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday.
City police chief Lt. Col. Alexie Desamito said that suspect Michael dela Cruz, reportedly leader of the so-called “Diego Bandido Criminal Group,” single and resident of Barangay San Vicente thiscCity allegedly sold one sachet of shabu to an undercover policeman.
But during the body search, investigators seized 24 more sachets of shabu, a .38 revolver with four rounds of ammunition, and the buy-bust money that included a P1,000 authentic bill and two P1,000 computer printed copies.
In her report to Nueva Ecija police director Col. Rhoderick Campo, Desamito said the confiscated drugs total 3.23 grams with an estimated value of P21,964.
The operation was conducted with other police units in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Desamito said.
The suspect, who was detained at the city police’s custodial facility, is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
