GAPAN CITY – A 58-year-old female vegetable vendor was arrested after allegedly yielding P150,000 worth of shabu in an anti-drug sting in Barangay Bayanihan here at about 9:20 p.m. Sept. 23.
The suspect whose name was withheld pending further investigation sold one sachet of metamphetamine hydrochloride to an undercover policeman who used a marked P500 for the operation, said Col. Ferdinand Germino, officer-in-charge of Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office.
Operatives headed by city police chief Lt. Wilmar Binag however were able to seize two more sachets containing 22 grams of suspected shabu from the suspect during “a subsequent search,” said Germino.
In total, the drugs confiscated from the suspect were worth P149,600, he added.
Charges for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) was leveled against the suspect.
“This operation reflects the unwavering commitment of our men to cleanse our streets of illegal drugs and apprehend those evading the law,” Germino said.
