BALANGA CITY — The municipal, provincial and national governments are readying assistance for residents of Bataan after the province was placed under the enhanced community quarantine from August 8 – 22, Gov. Albert Garcia announced Tuesday.

Garcia said that on the part of the provincial government, trailers and dump trucks began Monday the delivery of thousands of bags of rice of 25 kilos each to 237 barangays in 11 towns and one city.

Each household is entitled to one bag of 25 kilos of rice.

The governor announced the re-activation of the “Kusina sa Barangay” that will distribute cooked foods to every villager like last year when Bataan was first placed under ECQ.

The national government through the Department of Interior and Local Government and Department of Social Welfare and Development, on the other hand, are readying the lists of indigent families in the province for their financial assistance, the governor said.

Garcia said he does not know yet the amount of assistance every family will be getting from the national government but he surmised that it will be of the same amount being prepared for Metro Manila households.
