Fire Officer 3 Elmer Cayanan of the Abucay Bureau of Fire Management said the fire in Barangay Mabatang started at 6:37 in the evening, controlled at 7:15 p.m. and declared fire out at 7:45 of the same night.
He said that based on their investigation, fire broke out at the second floor of the residence of Mabatang barangay kagawad Andres Tanael and spread towards a sari-sari store, barangay stage and barangay tanod hall.
Cayanan said five fi etrucks from Bataan and one from the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority responded and prevented the fire from further spreading in the populated area.
“No one was hurt,” Potenciano Dominguez, Mabatang barangay chairman, said.
He said that aside from those mentioned by Cayanan, damaged by the fire were a newly-bought tricycle and a bicycle. He said that portions of two houses were also partially burned.
