PENARANDA, Nueva Ecija – “Nothing. I just want to kill anyone so I can have a crime to admit.”

Thus said Teodorico Daquiz, 48, when asked why he had to kill two people without apparent reason.

Daquiz, stabbed and killed a stranger Edgardo Villanueva, 41, a construction worker and Rolando Medina Jr., president of the Catholic Pastoral Parish Council and former barangay captain at about 10:30 a.m. in Barangay Sto. Tomas here last week, said Senior Insp. Angelito Ramos, town police chief.

Villanueva was totally a stranger to the suspect while Medina was his close friend and godfather of his son.

Investigation disclosed that the victims were sitting in front of the house of a certain Gerardo Padolina to attend the wake of a neighbor at about 10:30 a.m. when the suspect, armed with a kitchen knife, suddenly arrived and while uttering unpleasant words stabbed Villanueva.

He then turned stabbing Medina, a godfather of his son, investigation disclosed.

Daquiz said he had nothing against the two victims saying he did not even know Villanueva while Median is his close friend.

“Basta nagawa ko ang hindi dapat, ngayon huli na ang lahat,” Daquiz said. He said he lost sleep for four days and four nights after he heard some people speaking something bad against him.

“Sabi ko mabuti pa pumatay na lang ako at aaminin ko ang kasalanan ko,” he said in an interview.

This prompted him to pick up a knife from his kitchen and stabbed the victims.

Ramos said both victims sustained multiple stab wounds in different parts of their bodies, including chests.

He also said the suspect will remain “well kept” in their custody even as charges of double murder were filed against him.
