CABANATUAN CITY – Two suspected drug pushers were arrested by elements of the Nueva Ecija police provincial office (NEPPO) in a buy bust operation in Barangay M.S. Gacia here on Tuesday.
Chief Insp. Arnold Palomo, chief of the NEPPO’s Police Special reaction Team (PSRT) identified the suspects as Edgardo Guevarra, 37, a resident of Sitio Amihan, Barangay Barrera and Alexander Estrella, 28, of M. S. Garcia, both of this city.
Palomo said the arrest was a result of one week surveillance after his office received tips on the supposed activities of the suspects from irate residents of the village.
Senior Supt. Ricardo Marquez, NEPPO director, said the operation was actually part of the police’s unwavering campaign against all forms of crimes.
The buy bust was held at about 2:30 p.m., Palomo reported.
Operatives recovered from the duo some 0.44 grams of suspected methampetamine hydrochlroride or shabu with an estimated street value of P5,000.
The suspects were detained at the PSRT detention cell as authorities prepare charges of violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law against them.
