ANGELES CITY—Tune Hotels, the global branded value hotel chain which opened its first branch here last year, is set to open its fourth branch in Makati City.

In a statement sent from the Tune Hotels main office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the company said Tune Hotel Makati will open on July 17 and will have 213 rooms: 148 doubles, 63 twin-sharing and two special-needs room.

Aside from its branch in Angeles City, Tune Hotels has also two other branches in Cebu City and Ermita, Manila.

“Makati has long been Metro Manila’s most prestigious business, shopping and entertainment hub. The hotel is surrounded by the world-class shopping malls of Rockwell Centre, Glorietta and Greenbelt as well as the central business district of Makati and Ayala Avenue.

In addition, the tourist attractions of the Ayala Museum, Bonifacio Fort, Intramuros, Rizal Park and Chinatown are all within easy reach,” it said in a statement.

The Tune Group is a lifestyle business conglomerate co-founded by Tan Sri Tony Fernandes and Dato’ Kamarudin Meranun, the Group CEO and Deputy Group CEO, respectively, of Asia’s largest low-cost carrier AirAsia.

“When we opened the Tune Hotels in Angeles City, Cebu City and Ermita, many asked about Makati City. That question is now answered with the pre-opening sales of the Tune Hotel Makati,” said Mark Lankester, Tune Hotels Group CEO.

“We’ve always been vocal about the Philippines as being an outstanding tourist destination that has yet to receive its due attention and part of what we aim to do is bring that due attention,” he said.

“Makati is a natural element of the Tune road map of national expansion in the Philippines and our aspirations involve being able to cater to the needs of not only leisure but business travelers both from within and inbound to the country.

Tune Hotels said guests could experience its comfortable new rooms for only P288 or approximately RM21 a night,” Lankester added.

Tune Hotels has under its umbrella 11 hotels in Malaysia; two in Bali, Indonesia; two in London, England; three in the Philippines; and two in Thailand.
