TSU, SM Supermalls forge academe-industry partnership

TARLAC CITY – As part of its commitment to help the communities it serves, SM
Supermalls signed a memorandum of agreement with Tarlac State University
(TSU) forging beneficial partnership in terms of academic linkages on Aug. 5.

“We affirm, commit, and pledge our full support to SM and that we will surely do
our best to comply our roles and responsibilities in this MOA as we are grateful to
SM for the generosity and loving-kindness you have for our students,” said Dr.
Arnold E. Velasco, TSU president.

The agreement aims to help qualified students learn and participate in the
company’s apprentice programs and learning sessions to strengthen their
knowledge, skills and attitude in preparation for their future career, as well as
assist them for future job placements.

Under the MOA, TSU will also provide support to SM for the advertisement of
available job opportunities in the school bulletin boards and announcement in the
school’s social media accounts and websites.

Gracing the ceremonial signing from TSU were university president Dr. Velasco,
VP-academic affairs Dr. Agnes M. Macaraeg, and student welfare services head
Dr. Grace Anne C. Hasegawa. From SM Supermalls were HR manager Lesleyan A.
Paguio who represented VP-HR Cheryll Ruth L. Agsaoay, regional operations
manager Engr. Conrado M. Garcia, Jr., mall manager Engr. Darrel N. Ramos,
regional recruitment officer Charmaine Heidi D. Calub, and public relations officer
Shiela Mae M. Solis.
