Truck from Aurora caught dumping garbage in Mabalacat

    MABALACAT CITY – Four suspects were arrested after they were caught red-handed dumping illegal garbage on a vacant lot in Barangay Cacutud here over the weekend.

    The police identified the suspects as Richard Salvador, 34, Aries Dumlao, 37, Zaimon Dela Cruz, 24, and Richard Resueno, 17 all from Barangay Calabuanan, Baler, Aurora.

    According to a police report, Jeffrey Santos, head of the Solid Waste Management Office (SWMO) and Pollution Control Officer Marisa Sarmiento sought police assistance on July 26 to monitor the illegal dumping of solid waste in the barangay as reported by residents.

    Upon reaching the area, the police said two dump trucks were monitored throwing coconut husks on a vacant lot in the area.

    The following day at around 10:40 a.m., an Izuzu truck with plate number RFH 635, registered to Eduardo Yambot, a resident of Barangay Ditumabo, San Luis, Aurora, was caught illegally dumping its load of coconut husks on the vacant lot by the SWMO team led by Santos, Jessie Dungca and Jun Mariwat.

    The four suspects were arrested and turned over to the police.

    Tiotimo Javier also from Aurora was identified as owner of the truck load of coconut husks.

    Charges for violation of RA 9003 or the Philippine Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 were filed against the suspects.
