ABUCAY, Bataan — One died while four others were injured when two tricycles collided with each other along the MacArthur Highway here Wednesday afternoon.
Major Leopoldo L. Estorque, Jr., Abucay police chief, said Teresita Demaña, 63, was declared dead on arrival at a hospital in Balanga City.
Demaña was one of the three passengers of the tricycle driven by Henry dela Cruz. The tricycle driver and his two other passengers – Realyn dela Cruz, 41 and Ruby Ramires, 35 – were injured. They are all from Barangay Mabatang, Abucay.
Also injured was Noel Salvador, 40, driver of the other tricycle of Balanga City. He was alone in the tricycle.
Estorque said the tricycle with three passengers was travelling from Mabatang towards the Balanga City direction when it collided with the other tricycle coming from the opposite direction that made a left turn.
“Bilang kasalukuyang hepe sa bayan ng Abucay, ako ay nananawagan sa lahat ng mga motorista na mag-ingat, sumunod sa batas trapiko at kung kailangan magbigay sa ibang motorista ay pagbibigyan natin,” the police chief said.
“Huwag tayong magsamantala na baka makakalusot tayo kaya kung minsan ang aksidente hindi talaga masasabi kung kailan. Hinihiling ko lang ang ibayong pag-iingat lalo na sa kahabaan ng Roman Highway na madalas magkaroon ng aksidente,” Estorque added.
He said that investigation was still going on.
