TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija – A 30-year-old tricycle driver was killed in broad daylight
by another driver along the national road in Barangay San Pascual here at about
4:45 p.m. July 20.
Investigation showed that the victim, Richard Reyes, resident of San Miguel na
Munti of this municipality, was driving an improvised tricycle, locally known as
kolong-kolong, when fired at by the suspect.
The unidentified gunman was driving a similar conveyance with license plate DG
7894, police said.
The duo were both heading on a south direction when “a heated argument
ensued between them,” and the suspect reportedly shot the victim several times
with an unspecified hand gun.
“The victim who sustained multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of his body,
particularly in the head, died on the spot,” police reported.
The suspect managed to escape and is subject of a manhunt.
