ORION, Bataan – Police on Thursday arrested four suspects who allegedly participated in the stabbing to death of a tricycle driver who sustained 21 stab wounds while being robbed of his tricycle in broad daylight in a secluded barangay here.

PO3 Femelson Pinmiliw, Orion police investigator, identified the suspects as Nelson Valencia, 36; Eduardo dela Cruz, 40; Henry Renosa, 32; and Angelo Laus, 33; all of Wawa in Abucay, Bataan.

They face cases for murder and violation of the Anti-Carnapping Act, Pinmiliw said.

Reynaldo Llamzon, 50, tricycle driver of Barangay Del Rosario in Pilar, Bataan, was rushed to the St. Michael Hospital in Orion and later transferred to the Bataan General Hospital in Balanga City where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

“Kung sino man ang gumawa nito sa kapatid ko, sana pagbayaran nila. Naghahanap-buhay lang ang kapatid ko pinatay nila, kawawa ang tatlong anak niya,” Elena Llamson said.

Investigation showed that suspects Valencia and dela Cruz who pretended to be passengers boarded the victim’s tricycle at about 10:30 a.m. in Poblacion, Pilar and asked to be brought to barangay Sto. Domingo in Orion.

Once in Sitio Bangadin Sto. Domingo, the suspects announced a holdup. The victim apparently fought back but the suspects with the use of a kitchen knife stabbed him 21 times in different parts of the body and forcibly took his tricycle, Pinmiliw said.

Orion police conducted manhunt operation and arrested the two suspects fleeing and running towards a parked tricycle manned by the other two suspects, said Chief Insp. Elmer Santiago, Orion police chief.

The victim’s tricycle was recovered and the get-away tricycle was impounded.
