THE TARLAC Provincial Hospital [TPH], the biggest government hospital in all of Central Luzon celebrated its 97th founding anniversary in a threeday celebration that started last January 21.
A free medical, surgical and dental consultation was conducted on the first day by the doctors of the TPH led by Chief of Hospital Dr. Gary Role. A fun run, games and the search for Mr. and Ms. TPH was undertaken on the second day.
Governor Susan Yap, Vice Governor Carlito “Casada” David, Tarlac second district Representative Victor Yap, and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan were present during the awarding ceremonies on January 23.
Gov. Yap commended the doctors, nurses and staff that operate the Provincial Hospital saying, “They are the frontline of our health services and they are the ones who make our beloved Tarlaqueños healthy.”
The TPH is the home of the Tarlac Eye Center which in 2014 was given recognition by the Gawad Pitak, a national award given to provinces, cities or municipalities who carry a program that is impactful to its constituencies and are to be emulated.
Aside from the TPH, the Provincial Government of Tarlac runs three other government hospitals namely—Concepcion District Hospital, La Paz Medicare and Community Hospital and the Gilberto O. Teodoro Memorial Hospital. A fourth public hospital, the Moncada District Hospital is under construction.
