MABALACAT CITY – The Mabalacat City Government (MCG) under the leadership of Mayor Crisostomo Garbo has begun the immunization program for tourism economic frontliners against COVID-19.

According to the city mayor, the vaccination drive for the said sector is aimed to protect their well-being, while ensuring sustained business operations and the safety of the general public.

According to the data pool of the Mabalacat City COVID-19 Response Integrated System, a total of 625 individuals out of the 869 tourism frontliners have already been inoculated. Of this number, 428 workers received their first dose while the remaining 197 have already received their second dose.

Vaccinees are composed of workers from different hospitality and travel establishments, including some of the workforce of the Clark International Airport. Local medical teams have also kicked-off the inoculation of public transport workers.

Meanwhile, MCG has ramped-up its COVID-19 response with the establishment of its city-run isolation facility, its own swabbing hub, and a storage facility equipped with biomedical freezers that can store COVID-19 vials in required temperatures.
