PORAC, Pampanga — More than 3,000 tricycle drivers from all over this town received food assistance from 2nd District Board Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab as part of her program to assist those in the transportation sector amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The lady legislator visited Jose Songco Lapid Gymnasium in Barangay Cangatba and the Muncipal Command Center in Barangay Jalung to personally distribute rice and assorted canned goods to the trike drivers.

She highlighted the importance of assisting those in the transport sector which were the first to be impacted economically by the pandemic.

“Our transportation sector is still yet to recover from the economic hardships brought by the pandemic. They need all the support until our lives return at least to some level of normalcy,” Pineda-Cayabyab said, adding that the recovery of the transportation sector would depend on the loosening of restrictions on the economic and school sectors.

Pineda-Cayabyab also gave the drivers face masks and arm sleeves for their daily use. MPC-IG
