ANGELES CITY — Tibby’s Farm, an 11-hectare enclave harmoniously blending forest and farm beds within this city, proudly introduced Placid Studio as an integral part of The Sustainability School’s offerings. This developed in the wake of its recent art-focused workshops, further enriching the mission to merge various disciplines of arts and crafts within its tranquil setting.
Placid Studio, nestled within Tibby’s Farm, offers artists and enthusiasts a sanctuary to explore their imagination and forge connections with the environment through innovative means.
From painting workshops to photography expeditions, Placid Studio provides a platform for individuals to express themselves artistically while fostering a deeper connection with the natural world. According to Miguel Fedillaga, co-owner with his wife Inna, Placid Studio is an open studio concept which is “a space for the curious and creative minds.”
The recent weekend workshops showcased Tibby’s Farm’s commitment to blending art and nature seamlessly. The “Paint like Van Gogh” workshop immersed participants in the techniques of the legendary Vincent van Gogh, allowing them to delve into the intricacies of creating textures and movements reminiscent of van Gogh’s masterpiece, “The Starry Night”
Following this, the enchanting “Painting in Bloom” workshop captivated attendees with techniques for crafting floral gardens using Gouache paint. Gouache, known for its unique balance between acrylic and watercolor paints, provided the perfect medium for participants to bring their floral visions to life on canvas.
Meanwhile, Carlomagno Aguilar of Fresh Herbs, a mainstay in Tibby’s Farms led the third batch of his popular herbs workshop series. Participants were enlightened on various aspects of herb cultivation, care, and utilization, empowering them to create their own herbal oasis in their backyard or garden.
This is one of the Sustainability School’s programs in food security, education and agri-tourism. “These workshops exemplify Tibby’s Farm’s commitment to providing a haven where various disciplines of arts and crafts merge harmoniously with nature,” remarked Alvin Valencia, Manager of Tibby’s Farm. “We are thrilled by the enthusiastic participation and the opportunity to inspire creativity while fostering a deeper connection with our environment.”
These workshops are just a glimpse of the diverse range of activities offered at Tibby’s Farm, where individuals can explore their artistic passions amidst the tranquil beauty of nature.
The next scheduled events are workshops in landscape painting called “Captivating Landscape” and a terrarium-making happening on March 2-3, 2024 at the Zarok Hall of Placid Studio. They will also open an artisan market where artists and entrepreneurs can sell their art works, crafts, food products, and more.
