CABANATUAN CITY — Three people, including a female massage therapist, were arrested as one eluded arrest for different charges of violating criminal laws and anti-Covid-19 protocols in different Nueva Ecija towns on Monday, police said.
“Riza,” 23, the therapist from Barangay Cambitala, Pantabangan was arrested by local police operatives over alleged libelous Facebook post which reads “Woow, may bayad pala ang travel permit.”
The remarks were supposedly posted on FB page Binalewala Raga but the “MPS (municipal police station) conducted validation,” that led to the suspect as the author.
She was subjected to inquest proceedings for cyber libel.
No one was named complainant in the police report but it said the “false statement” was “destructive to the reputation of person issuing travel permit within Pantabangan.”
The therapist was also accused of violating Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code and an executive order issued by Mayor Roberto Agdipa for alleged failure to wear face mask during the arrest.
At about 3 p.m., Florentino Areola Jr., 48, of Barangay Mapangpang, Lupao, Nueva Ecija was arrested after he allegedly created a scene while under the influence of liquor, a violation of the quarantine protocol under Republic Act 11332, police said.
He also resisted arrest, investigation showed.
In Sto. Domingo town, Malvin Malibiran, 43, driver from San Alejandro, Quezon and a certain Amand of San Andres, Quezon, were accosted by lawmen manning a quarantine checkpoint in Barangay Malaya past 8 p.m.
But “they answered arrogantly and seriously disobeyed the arresting officer,” police said in a report to the provincial headquarters here.
Malibiran was nabbed while his companion eluded arrest. Both are facing charges for violation of Article 151 of RPC and RA 11332.
