These were the first worlds of the Blessed Mother when she first appeared to children (now married adults) in Medjugorje on June 25, 1981.
At first, the statement seems redundant. Shouldn’t belief in her be premised on the existence of God?. Does not her statement presuppose her being before that of God?
Not really.For mankind demanding test of spirits by way of corporeal laboratories, the Blessed Mother appeared in Medjugorje in the manner of matter. The visionaries described her as tri-dimensional, that they could also touch her, hear her. Scientific observations and instruments used on the visionaries also concluded the corporeality of the Mother of God there.
Satisfying the laboratory demands of the unbelieving and thus establishing bases for belief in her apparitions, the Blessed Mother thus assures us all that God exists.
The premises of Medjugorje therefore now stand on solid ground and messages from there are worth considering.
Despite the temptation to be overwhelmed by daily earthly concerns amid the “signs of the times,” the Blessed Mother calls on us from Medjugorje to spread her messages. We are at the doorstep of something unprecedented. Those of us who believe in Medjugorje must respond. We must spread Medjugorje.
The Blessed Mother of Medjugorje has appealed so many times. Her words: “Dear children, without you I am not able to help the world. I desire that you cooperate with me in everything, even inDear children, without you I am not able to help the world. I desire that you cooperate with me in everything, even in the smallest things.”
At another time, she said: “I want YOU to comprehend that God has chosen each one of you in order to use you for the great plan of the salvation of mankind. YOU cannot comprehend how great your role is in God’s plan.Today I am calling on you to decide whether or not you wish to live the messages that I am giving you. I wish you to be active in living and spreading these messages.”
Dr. Kelly Bowring and Vincent Murray, in the Medjugorje book “Dear Children”, summarized the appeals of the Blessed Mother to all of us, especially Catholic devotees of Medjugorje, thus:
1. To increase our faith 2. To convert our hearts and to reconcile with God and all others 3. To pray without ceasing 4. To fast twice a week 5. To accept God’s peace in our hearts, in our families, and in our world What more specific advice is Our Lady of Medjugorje giving to us? The messages of Medjugorje teach us that we must learn the true meaning of love – for God, and for others –and to start to live that love in our daily life.
For us Catholics, Our Lady offers us some ways to best live the virtue of love today: 1. To go to confession regularly, and to confess all of your sins. No holding back! Get back in God’s sanctifying grace. 2. To attend Mass frequently and pray the Mass with your heart.. 3. To pray much more, especially the daily Rosary, and do so in a family setting when possible. 4. To surrender your will completely to God and make God the center of your life. 5. To ask God for His mercy (by praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy); to be merciful to others and have confidence in God’s mercy. 6. To consecrate yourself and your family to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. 7. To read these messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje every day and make them an active part of your life, and pray for her intentions. Then, spread these messages to others. 8. To read the Bible daily in our prayer time.
