IBA, Zambales (PIA) – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Provincial Training Center (PTC)–Iba conducted a post-training services and HIV-Tuberculosis awareness seminar for 44 trainees and graduates to support their transition into the workforce and promote overall well-being.
Participants came from various technical vocational courses, including the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I, Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) NC II, and Carpentry NC II courses.

TESDA Zambales Technical Education and Skills Development Specialist John Melvin M. Galzote said the one-day activity aimed to equip participants with information and support to enhance their employability and personal well-being.
“The seminar began with an orientation on the Social Security System (SSS) and emphasized the value of early SSS registration and contributions, citing benefits such as sickness, maternity, disability, retirement, and death coverage as essential to both job seekers and employed workers,” he said.
This was followed by a Pre-Employment Service Orientation facilitated by the Zambales Public Employment Service Office (PESO), wherein participants received practical guidance on resume writing, interview preparation, and workplace behavior.
PESO Zambales also shared current job openings, presenting opportunities for immediate employment in the private sector.
In addition, an HIV and Tuberculosis (TB) awareness seminar was conducted in response to the rise in HIV cases in the country. The session provided in-depth discussions on the symptoms, transmission, and prevention of HIV and TB.
Participants were also educated on the importance of regular health screenings, the availability of free testing services, and the need to reduce stigma while promoting awareness within communities to strengthen public health efforts.
These initiatives reflect TESDA Zambales’ continuous effort to support the overall growth of its trainees, graduates, and staff.
By offering both employment guidance and health education, the seminar equipped participants with vital knowledge that complements their technical skills, helping them become more prepared and confident as they enter the workforce. (MJSC/RGP, PIA Region 3-Zambales)
