TESDA holds CL skills competition

    DINALUPIHAN, Bataan — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority held here its four-day Central Luzon Regional Skills Competition participated in by delegates from different technical vocational institutions in seven provinces in Region 3.

    Organizers said there were 250 participants coming from the Bataan, Zambales, Pampanga, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac and Aurora.

    Dinalupihan Mayor Maria Angela Garcia cut the ceremonial chain while TESDA Region 3 director Atty. Andrew Bido declared the official opening of the competition to the cheers of delegates and guests in the town’s Bulwagan ng Bayan. John Soriano, bronze medalist in electronics in the 2016 ASEAN Skills Competition in Kuala Lumpur, lighted the flame of the competition.

    “This is in preparation for the ASEAN International Skills Competition after choosing winners from the provincial to regional, zonal and national levels,” Virginia Bondoc, Bataan TESDA provincial director, said.

    She said that participants were to compete in 19 trade areas like automobile technology, beauty therapy, cookery, electrical installation, electronics, fashion technology, graphic design technology, hairdressing.

    Also, in industrial automation, IT network administration, IT software solution to business, mechanical engineering CAD, mechatronics, mobile robotics, plumbing, refrigeration, restaurant service, web design and welding.

    “The best of the best are to be chosen.I have asked our Bataan delegates to do their best because the province is home of heroes,” Bondoc said.

    Former first district congresswoman Herminia Roman represented her daughter, Representative Geraldine Roman, in the program.

    In attendance were all TESDA provincial directors in seven provinces and representatives of provincial governors of Tarlac and Bataan.
