TESDA-Bataan, school partners continue donations

ITY — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority provincial office here announced Wednesday that its school partners have continued with their donations to the needy and the frontliners fighting the coronavirus disease pandemic.

Among the agency’s partners, the Bataan Peninsula State University has shared its resources through its project “Aruga, TESDA provincial director Julie Ann Banganan reported.

She said that Bernadeth Gabor, BPSU’s OIC director of extension and training services office, informed them of the distribution of 1,750 food packs, 120 packs of cookies and healthy chips, and 100 packs of relief goods to affected families and frontliners.

BPSU has also distributed 300 washable face masks, 1,860 disposable face masks, 50 KN95 face masks, 2,400 disposable hand gloves, 30 isolation gowns, 110 face shields, 110 laboratory gowns, 64 bounty suits, and 21 gallons alcohol to health workers in various hospitals and other frontliners.

Even BPSU’s campus in Orani, Bataan has done its share by sewing and handing 11,220 washable face masks to frontliners, Banganan said.

Gabor said that project Aruga was initiated in collaboration with Dr. Ronnel dela Rosa, dean of BPSU Graduate School and Nomer N. Varua, chair of the school’s main student affairs and services. This, she said, has the full support of BPSU president Dr. Gregorio Rodis.

Sierra Flores of TESDABataan said their agency’s school partners in the province aside from BPSU are Bataan Heroes Memorial College, D’ Planners Training Center, Eastwoods Professional College of Science and Technology, Electrotechnical Institute, Microcity College of Business Technology,Microcity Institute of Instrumentation Technology,Philippine Academy of Technical Studies,  Philippine Women’s University-CDCEC (Bataan), SkillsEnhancement Academy and Training Center, and Softnet Information Technology Center.

Flores said that two TESDA training centers Provincial Training Center in Orion and Regional Training Center in Mariveles and the newly registered farmers’ field schools Greenhaven Farm in Pilar and Diaz Agri Farm in Orani have also done their share.

“Bataeños are indeed lucky to have caring and loving people continuously and selflessly helping not only the frontliners but also other residents who are in need in these times of the pandemic,” Banganan said.
