DINALUPIHAN, Bataan — This only landlocked town in the province has now for its own an isolation center for those infected with the coronavirus disease.
The Dinalupihan Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility (TTMF) was inaugurated Wednesday signaling its start of operation.
Mayor Maria Angela Garcia said the facility will cater to both suspects of Covid–19 and those found positive of the dreaded virus.
She explained that it is intended for mild and asymptomatic cases while the severe cases are to be referred to the Bataan General Hospital, the exclusive hospital for Covid–19 patients in the province.
The TTMF has 40 air-conditioned rooms with 20 for positive cases and the other 20 for suspected cases. Each room has its own comfort room. For the safety of health workers, there is a triage separate from the patients.
The TTMF is located adjacent to the town’s Bulwagan ng Bayan just at the back of the municipal hall.
The mayor said the facility built under a P20-million loan from the Land Bank of the Philippines is accredited by the Department of Health and PhilHealth.
“Hopefully, mas makakatulong ito sa mga nagpo–positive na kung hindi akma ang kanilang tahanan para sa isolation at quarantine ay mabigyan sila ng sapat na pasilidad dito,” Garcia said.
Building the town’s own quarantine facility means no more need to use public school classrooms, the mayor said, adding that it will be more than enough for the town.
