SANTA ROSA, Nueva Ecija – A Grade 10 student and her 18-year-old alleged former boyfriend were in critical condition in a hospital after the latter allegedly shot her before shooting himself inside the girl’s classroom shortly before 12 noon Thursday, Aug. 7.
The incident happened at Santa Rosa Integrated School in Barangay Rizal here.
Both youths reportedly sustained gunshot wounds in the head from an unspecified hand gun.
A source from the school said classes were at break when the incident happened.
Rose, sister of the boy, said the two were schoolmates at Santa Rosa National High School where they reportedly met and got into a relationship.
But the girl was transferred to the SRIS for undisclosed reason this school year.
The two schools are kilometers apart.
Rose said her brother who was in Grade 12 has dropped out of school since.
It was not yet clear where the gun came from.
Police are still investigating the case.
