ANGELES CITY – This city’s mayoralty candidate Alex Cauguiran and his running mates under his Kambilan Ding Abe Kapampangan Party passed the drug testing procedure conducted at the Angeles University Foundation Medical Center’s Wellness Center on Monday in compliance with Malacañang mandate for mandatory drug tests for local candidates in next year’s polls.
“(My team) volunteered to undergo drug test procedure not only as an instruction from Malacañang but also to show the public how decisive and transparent leaders should be, especially if we are to serve them in the future,” Cauguiran said.
Cauguiran, former president of the Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC), filed his candidacy last October 16 and vowed to bring strong managerial leadvision where highly productive residents enjoy a healthy, safe, and comfortable life with their families.”
Cauguiran said the drug tests also showed negative for his vice mayoral bet, actress Maricel Morales, as well as re-electionist councilors Jae Flores and Jay Sangil, and council aspirants Jhune Angeles, Harvey Santiago, Tony Mamac, Edward Laki and Sonny Pahed.
As CIAC president, Cauguiran was credited for the increase in flights, destinations and number of passengers at the Clark International Airport.
He is running under aegis of the Kambilan Party of incumbent Gov. Lilia Pineda and is supported by an overwhelming majority of the card-bearing members of the Partido Abe Kapampangan, a party he helped establish in 2012.
