SAN LEONARDO, Nueva Ecija — A female teacher was killed in a night time gun attack right in front of her house in Barangay Magpapalayok here Sunday.
Investigation disclosed the victim, identified as Julieta Hementera, 58, resident of the said village, was standing near the door of her house when shot by the gunman at about 8 p.m. Sunday.
Police said two men got near the victim and “one of them subsequently drew a short firearm and shot her several times.”
The victim sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of her body, police reported.
The suspects fled on board a single motorcycle towards Barangay Adorable also of this municipality, according to the police.
Relatives of the victim brought her to Gonzales General Hospital here for treatment but was declared dead upon arrival by attending physician.
Forensic investigators led by Major Marissa Areola recovered five empty shells of .9mm pistol and two deformed slugs.
The local police are now reviewing CCTV footages from a nearby establishment and conducting a dragnet operation for possible arrest of the suspects.
