Indeed, living up to “Public- Private Partnership: A Catalyst for Economic Progress”that themed last Thursday’s Stakeholder’s Day and Recognition of Top Taxpayers ceremonies at the Heroes Hall.
Looking at this list of outstanding taxpayers, we cannot help but wonder why it did not carry even but one of those prominent names associated with successful business enterprises in the City of San Fernando, men and women who have lorded over the field of commerce, trade and industry here for so long that they have appropriated for, indeed, arrogated unto themselves the very economy of the city and the greater part of Pampanga. We see them in every business endeavour, in ostentatious display of wealth and power, always under the bright lights of media.
That we don’t find them in the list of top taxpayers…is anybody’s guess. And for the Bureau of Internal Revenue to determine.
