CABANATUAN CITY – The provincial police office has created “Task Group Guevarra” in a bid to solve the killing of peasant leader Pascual Guevarra in Laur town recently.

Senior Supt. Ricardo Marquez, provincial police director, named Supt. Benjamin Villasis, deputy provincial director for operations, as head of the group. It also included officers from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Team (CIDT).

Villasis said “Task Group Guevarra”, which was formally formed Monday, is looking into money as another angle. The Laur town police, under Senior Insp. Almario Evaristo, earlier said they are eyeing land dispute as another angle.

He said they are aiming to get the gunman first even as they continue to gather evidences against the suspected mastermind.

The task force, Villasis said, starts with establishing the legal existence of organizations, particularly the Alyansa ng Magbubukid na Nagkakaisa 3100.

They have yet to receive the feedback though.
