TARLAC CITY — The provincial government of Tarlac is aiming to vaccinate 70 percent of its total population before the holiday season.
Provincial Health Office Head Jeanette Lazatin said the vaccination teams are doing their best effort to achieve the goal.
“We have already vaccinated 721,772, which is equivalent to 70% of the total population, with at least one dose, and 459,746 or 44.48% with complete dose,” Lazatin disclosed during the Provincial Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee meeting.
“We intend to reach 70% fully vaccinated individuals before the holiday season to reduce the possibility of increased active cases due to gatherings,” she added.
In line with the National Vaccination Days dubbed as “Bayanihan Bakunahan” from November 29 to December 1, the provincial government has mega vaccination hubs at Diwa ng Tarlac, SM City Tarlac, and Robinsons Luisita which are open from 9:00AM to 4:00PM.
Moreover, vaccination sites at Tarlac Provincial Hospital, Concepcion District Hospital, Gilberto Teodoro Memorial Hospital, and La Paz Medicare and Community Hospital are open from 8:00AM to 4:00PM.
Lazatin said booster shots for frontline health workers or those belonging to the A1 category are also accommodated in the vaccination sites.
“As of now, we have booster shots only for the A1 population. Senior citizens and persons with comorbidities will follow after we are done with our health workers,” she said.
In addition, the pediatric population aged 12 to 17 years old may receive the jab provided they present a birth certificate and are accompanied by a parent or guardian. (CLJD/GLSB-PIA 3)
