CLARK FREEPORT – Kapampangan taekwondo champion Sgt. Mark Angeli Barro is set to participate anew in the nationwide Unity Games of the Iglesia ni Cristo later this month.
Barro has received various awards and citations from international, national and provincial competitions over
the last 10 years from his days as student at the Angeles University Foundation.
He is also set to be promoted to 3rd Dan Blackbelt. Barro had been named Most Outstanding Capampangan in the Field of Sports awarded during the 53rd Pampanga Press Club anniversary and induction ceremonies and was also the 2003 Most Outstanding Kapampangan in the field of sports.
His achievements, including winning bronze medals in South Korea, was also officially recognized by the local governments of San Fernando, Angeles City and Mabalacat.
He was also officially recognized by former Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, former Education Sec. Jesli Lapus, and Brig. Gen. Danilo Fetter, former commander of the Air Force Reserve Command.
He graduated from a criminology course from the AUF with awards for outstanding performance in sports.
