BAGAC, Bataan — Police on Thursday set for inquest proceedings at the provincial prosecutor’s office in Balanga City a suspected drug trader who was arrested during a buy-bust operation here.
Staff Sgt. Christopher Vegiga, Bagac police investigator, said Loreto Acurin, 48, from Sitio Sili in Bagac, was nabbed after selling dried marijuana leaves in exchange for P500 to a police poseur-buyer last Tuesday night.
The investigator said Acurin was new in the area and it was through an asset that they learned of the suspect’s drug involvement so they conducted surveillance operation.
He said their surveillance turned out to be positive and their agent was able to buy from suspect more than two grams of marijuana leaves which the raiding team confiscated along with the marked money.
Bagac police chief Captain Michelle Agnetha Gaviola congratulated the raiding team that even during the pandemic continued in the aggressive campaign against illegal drugs.
Vegiga said that they have readied a case against Acurin for violation of Section 5, Article 2 of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
Acurin denied involvement in illegal drugs and said he was not into selling or using of marijuana.
