CABANATUAN CITY – A 35-year-old male drug suspect yielded over P375,000 worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Purok Malinis, Barangay Barrera here Sunday.
Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office director Col. Heryl Bruno said anti-drug operatives arrested the suspect after a police poseur-buyer purchased one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing shabu weighing approximately 0.20 grams.
Upon conducting a protective search, police further recovered another heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing shabu weighing approximately 55 grams from the suspect’s possession.
This brought the total confiscated evidence to an estimated 55.20 grams of shabu with a standard drug price of P375,360.
The suspect is now under the custody of Cabanatuan City Police Station and will be facing charges for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
“I commend the personnel of Cabanatuan City PS for this successful operation. The confiscation of this significant amount of illegal drugs prevents its circulation in our neighborhoods and helps save more lives from its destructive effects,” Bruno said.
