CLARK FREEPORT — A total of 3,468 grams of cocaine worth P18,380,400 were seized from a Surinamese national at the Clark International Airport on May 23 evening.
In a statement released on May 24, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said suspect Renaldo Wilfred Oliviera, 48, arrived at the airport from Dubai on board Emirates Airlines Flight EK 338 around 6:31 p.m. and was arrested at 7:44 p.m. after illegal drugs were found in his luggage and concealed inside his jackets.
Authorities recovered “30 vacuum-sealed transparent packs wrapped in mesh cloth and blue carbon paper containing cocaine” from Oliviera.
Charges for violation of Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect, the PDEA said.
Participating in the operation that led to the Surinamese national’s arrest and the recovery of the illegal drugs were PDEA Clark Inter Agency Drug Interdiction Unit, PDEA Region 7, PDEA International Cooperation and Foreign Affairs Service, the Bureau of Customs Port of Clark, the Bureau of Immigration, NBI Pampanga District Office and PNP Aviation Security Unit 3.
