SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — Tourism establishments in the Subic Bay Freeport, led by the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Tourism Department, again joined this year’s Philippine Travel Mart, giving a taste of what tourists could expect when visiting this popular port and tourism destination.

The travel exhibit, held at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City, ran from September 2 to 4 and showcased colorful booths of the different regions in the country.

Hundreds of exhibitors participated in the exhibit and offered various tour packages catering to the different travel preferences of companies and individuals.

SBMA’s booth likewise provided information about tour packages and hotel accommodations in the Subic Bay Freeport during the three-day event.

Meanwhile, Subic tourism stakeholders like Treetop Adventure, Ocean Adventure, and Subic Bay Yacht Club, also manned booths during the exhibit to answer inquiries on their facilities and tour packages.

Philippine Tour Operators Association (PHILTOA) President Cesar Cruz said the 22nd Philippine Travel Mart seeks to create a bigger impact in the local travel market.

“We’re always looking to make the experience at the Philippine Travel Mart better and more engaging,” said Cruz. “We want to offer something different.”

Aside from the exhibit, the recently-concluded Philippine Travel Mart also lined up attractions like a cultural dance competition, Eco-Chorale competition, Tourism Quiz Bee, and a kundiman singing contest.

Educational seminars were also made available during the exhibition.

The annual event is organized by PHILTOA in cooperation with the Department of Tourism.
