SUBIC, Zambales – A fisherman selling shabu and another drug pusher were arrested by elements of the Subic Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) in simultaneous drug operations in barangays Calapacuan and Calapandayan here.
Chief Inspector Jude Bryan Maguddayao, head of the Subic Municipal Police Station identified the suspect as Ernesto Abuedo, 57 years old. He was arrested at Pumera Street, Barangay Calapacuan while selling a sachet of shabu to a police poseur-buyer worth P300, he said.
Recovered from suspect’s possession were another three pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of shabu.
In Barangay Calapandayan, suspect Charlie Escalante y Ambao, male, 39 years old and a resident of No. 392, Purok 6, Barangay Calapandayan, Subic town was arrested by operatives of the SDEU headed by Senior Inspector Ramil Menor while selling shabu to a police poseur-buyer worth P500.
Recovered from Escalante was a piece of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of shabu, mark money and another three pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of shabu.
Both suspects are now facing charges for violation of Section 5 and 11, Article II of RA 9165 before the Office of Provincial Prosecutor in Olongapo City.
