SAN ANTONIO, Nueva Ecija – Three youths, aged 19 to 20 years old, are the subject of police manhunt over a stabbing that resulted to the death of a minor who was playing basketball at about 4 p.m. Sunday in Barangay San Francisco here.
Police identified the suspects as Rodnie Urgelles, Wally Soriano, and Christopher Cabatbat, all residents of Camias St. in the same village.
The three were tagged behind the slay of Joshua Calanday, student, of Bantog St., also of Barangay San Francisco.
Investigators reported that Calanday was playing basketball with his friends when Urgelles allegedly entered the court and for “unknown reason stabbed the victim” as the two other suspects allegedly served as “back up.”
The three fled towards unknown direction, police said.
The victim was rushed to San Antonio District Hospital and later transferred to Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center in Cabanatuan City where he expired, the probers said.
